Working Pupil Ellie Isaacs

Working for Jonty last year was a very spontaneous decision. After getting into University I then planned to take a gap year with the intension of improving both my riding and my horse. My gap year was by no means just playing ponies all the time. It was hard work, but thoroughly enjoyable. Jonty currently has a very successful string of horses providing a great atmosphere around the yard when the competitive placings are achieved.

I would highly recommend others to follow the path I took. The opportunities as a Working Pupil at Jonty's are much greater compared to other places that I applied to work at; whether it be out competing your own horse or gaining higher qualifications such as an NVQ. The team at Manor Farm were very good at teaching me all sorts of new skills and provided me with a stronger interest in equestrian welfare. For anyone taking up this role the main bit of advice I could give them is to put their all into everything and just give it a go. The more you put in the more you get out. I was gutted when my year came to an end and was by no means ready to leave. I now come back to work for Jonty in the holidays and still love it.
